too fast a machine?

I'm having trouble running snap/restore on my desktop at the office--a Blade2500 with dual SPARC processors and 2GB RAM.

It occurs to me that a lot of my logic depends on having unique timestamps. I do have a small supplimental counter for when clock granularity is too small. But its a SMALL counter. Perhaps it overflowed.

(Python gives you a granularity of only 1/256th of a second.)
