value of names

Well, names have been released, though I expect to turn up a few bugs yet.

The real value of names, I'm thinking, is that it allows a degree of indirectness. And that is always useful.

For example, if you have several versions of something (bookv1, bookv2, etc) and you want to have a name that refers to the released version, and another which refers to the draft version.
name releasedBook bookv1
name draftBook bookv2
Now when you release a new version, you can just change the names.
