not the best of times

Took off from work today--fever. My wife, Rupali, is visiting home this week. And Norm keeps finding bugs in my code. ;-)

The code has undergone some substantial changes, so its not too supprising a few things were missed. But I'd like to get these things cleaned up before doing magic names, as that too is a substantial change.

Currently Norm is reporting difficulties with the de and chnm commands.
