Progress on Porting to Unix

I admidt, I'm spoiled by the pre-packaged releases available for Windows. Like having bsddb included in the download for Python.

Thomas and I finally realized that there was no BSDDB software installed on my Solaris 10 machine. That was easily fixed. But the one step forward, two back shuffle continues.
