a bit of refactoring

Cleaned up the Rolon API--subclasses of Rolon no longer need to implement those narrow methods.

Dropped the two interfaces for Session. Should make the code a bit more readable.

Its not much. Nothing worth releasing. But it is good to be back in the code a bit. And I am very much enjoying the NetBeans 5.5 plugin for subversion.

finally a bit of time, what to do?

10 hr days do take a bite out of other activities. I am having fun at Fiorano. Working hard on moving the shop to eXtreme Programming and going to monthly updates. Not an easy thing, but I think everyone is ready for a change. Doing releases with the current setup has just proven to be too difficult.

Yesterday I was in the office for only a few hours, checking email and talking with Atul. Then Rupali and I went to Food Zone to do some shopping. That's the last time we'll go there. It is just too expensive. I also had a chance to take a looooong nap. So today I'm feeling fresh.

So now, what to do? I am thinking that the best thing is to take some time and clean up the code a bit. In other words, small things. I do want to get back to AgileWiki, but the tasks I work on need to be small ones.

still busy

Worked nearly a full day yesterday at the office. Atul had returned from another trot around the globe--it was my first day with him in town. So we spent the day in meetings with various developers.

Today I tried downloading netbeans 5.5 over dialup and also from a cybercafe. No go so far. But I have managed to update windows, tortoiseSvn and Symantic. The only ISP here is BSNL, and they are bad news. (They are a government operation.) I don't expect too much improvement then when I get DSL, as it will also be BSNL. The office at least has both BSNL and AirTel. AirTel is better, but as often than not one or both ISPs will be down for part of each day. (Things were better at Sun, but the office is really pretty good. And our web site is based out of the US.)

I expect to be working next Saturday as well.

busy with new job, move

One week on the new job, and I must say it looks like a good fit for me.

Rupali and I are still dealing with move-related issues, but that is starting to come to a close.

I still need to figure out how to upload a release--this dialup is too slow and accessing the agilewiki.org site requires vpn.

Meanwhile, I'm at least able to monitor agilewiki.org and restart it as needed.

agilewiki.org back up

With my new, slooooooow dialup connection, I've restarted the aw server.

Enjoy!

some very nice swing code

Here's some great code by a coworker. I'm particularly interested in the tables code--AwSwing tables are pretty bad.

all is well, almost

The agilewiki.org site is down. Hopefully I'll be able to restart it tonight via a dialup connection. (Just got a phone connection yesterday.)

Had a chance to rest a few days after the move and I'm feeling much better. Then yesterday I started work at Fiorano. I've got a lot to learn. But it is a very fine developer team.

One of the nice things about Fiorano is that it is developer-centeric. Which means no managers. Is cool. We've got several teams, each headed up by a lead developer.

No further work has been done on AgileWiki. Perhaps this weekend I'll get rolling again.
